I have purchased Keds shoes while they are young since my oldest was a baby. I am also not a huge believer in having a pair of shoes for every occasion, therefore my twins wear theirs daily. I have had them last as long as a year (if they haven't outgrown them) and still look great with occasional washings. My daughter wears the T-strap Daphnes and my son the Grahams (both white leather). I have found that the leather versions work better as they tend to 'give' more as they are worn. They also hold up well in the washer with a small amount of bleach.My husband says that all four inherited his "Flinstone Feet" - which basically means very wide at the toe area. I tend to purchase the shoes that are more open, like the T-straps, for this reason. The Keds do seem to run slightly narrow, even when I order the wide. My daughter has several shoes so it's not like she wore these daily, or even weekly. The rubber siding has begun pulling away from the fabric on the shoe.
