We have a difficult time finding shoes that fit properly and don't hurt my son's feet (like most cheap quality shoes do). However, we didn't even have to worry about him "breaking them in" because they were extremely comfortable the first time my son put them on. He wears them to school every day and plays outside and they don't even have the typical cracking normally associated with leather shoes. In my opinion, these aren't exactly the most stylish shoes like Skechers or Adidas' can be, but comfort takes precedence over looks. I would definitely recommend these shoes, especially to parents who have a hard time finding comfortable shoes for their kids.As for the bad review listed, it's not Amazon or Stride Rite's fault that you can't tell the difference between toddler shoes and boys shoes. These shoes clearly state KIDS, not TODDLER or INFANT. My son is 10 and he wears KIDS 5 W, which is average for his age. I guess...
