Ernie's striped sleeves (the arms that make up the straps) have peeled off with a few of weeks of light use. Stride Rite makes good shoes and except for the weird peeling issue, these are no exception. They have the right flexibility needed for a new walker's shoe. We have gotten TONS of compliments on them. But, I'm annoyed that the stripes peel off and a bit concerned that the peeling parts are going to end up in my toddler's mouth. I wish they'd secure the stripes better, the straps themselves are fine. Oh, I also needed to mark "L" and "R" inside the shoes for our own sanity because there is very little differentiation between them unless you look closely at the soles and in the beginning we were putting them on the wrong feet. My 1 year old loves looking at his feet when he wears these shoes and he loves touching Ernie's hair. I haven't had any trouble with the paint peeling on Ernie's arms like others have commented on. The only issue I have with these shoes is that they make my son's feet sweat when he wears them. Overall though, they are good shoes. |
